The Loire Marathon has become, in just a few editions, a benchmark among French marathons. Founded in 2017, it responds to runners' demand by becoming the only marathon in the Maine-et-Loire department. Participating in the races offered during the Loire Marathon is a unique way for runners of all levels to discover the region's treasures!

Large Tables of Saumur-Champigny

29th July 2026 : New location! The esplanade of Saumur Castle.

The Grandes Tablées du Saumur-Champigny is a large festive dinner conceived and organised by the winegrowers of the appellation to bring together the people of Saumur in a spirit of sharing and conviviality.

Designed with products from local partners, this moment celebrates the gastronomy of the region and allows you to discover the Cuvée des 100, an emblematic wine produced collectively by all the winemakers of the AOC and offered through several vintages.

The Saumur-Champigny Fun Run

The Saumur-Champigny Fun Run is a troglo-trail, a unique race that plunges runners into the heart of the vineyard's troglodytic cellars. The course alternates between underground passages, vineyards, and landscapes emblematic of the appellation.

This sporting and, above all, friendly event highlights the troglodytic heritage and winemaking identity of Saumur-Champigny! There's something for everyone, with a program including walking, Nordic walking, a 9km trail run, an 18km trail run, and a 29km trail run!

The Saumur-Champigny Fun Run also offers races specifically for young runners on a fun and safe trail-type nature course.

Whether it's to discover running, share a sporting moment with friends or take on a first challenge, these races are open to everyone, licensed or unlicensed.

Categories and distances

 6 to 8 years old: 500 meters, start at 11 AM

 Ages 8 to 11: 1,5 kilometers. Start at 11:15 AM.

 Ages 12 and over: 3 kilometers. Start at 11:30 AM.

The routes follow paths and trails adapted to the age of the participants, allowing them to discover the joys of trail running in a spirit of camaraderie, respect, and enjoyment. The distances offered comply with the recommendations of the French Athletics Federation (FFA) for the relevant age categories.

Each child is invited to participate at their own pace, with the main objective of having a great sporting experience in the heart of the Saumur-Champigny vineyards.
